The Trinity Suburb

The Trinity Suburb is a nice-looking and unique old town corner favoured as an entertainment purlieu by local people and tourists.  Museums and exhibition halls, an old phapmacy, souvenir gift shops and cafés piece together the feel of the past centuries.

The Liberty Square (Ploschad Svobody) and Minsk City Hall

The very central part of Minsk with architectural landmarks of the 17t-19th centuries such as the eastern orthodox Holy Spirit Cathedral Church, the catholic Blessed Virgin Mary Cathedral and the restored City Hall.

The Holy Spirit Cathedral Church

The church is the home to a miracle-working Minsk Mother of God worshipped as the city's celestial patroness. The cathedral treasures the hallows of Saint Sophia who devoted herself to preserving orthodox Christianity in the Belarusian land.

The St. Simon and Helena Church and the Independence Square (Ploschad Nezavisimosti)

The St. Simon and Helena Church, not infrequently referred to as the Red Church, is the most eminent catholic church in Minsk.

The St Peter and Paul's Cathedral

 

The church constructed in 1611–1613 shelters a venerated icon of Holy Martyrs of Vilnia Anthony, John and Eustache with parts of their hallows.

 

The Blessed Virgin Mary Cathedral Church

The Jesuits built this Baroque church in 1770-1710. The interior was decorated with abundant paintings and twelve wooden apostles. The original paintings are now restored and the church has a renovated organ.

The Victory Square (Ploschad Pobedy)

The centre of the square hosts the Victory Monument that was open in a solemn ceremony on May 9, 1954. The Eternal Fire at the foot of the Monument commemorates the fallen heroes of the Great Patriotic War (WW2).

Belarusian State Circus

The only world circle located in the centre of a national capital and in a central avenue. The building is adapted for shows of any circus show types, music performances, sports and keeping animals, including marine animals.

Minsk Arena

One of the best state-of-the-art multi-use complexes in Europe and a venue for international sports contests and cultural and recreational events.

The National Library of Belarus

One of the biggest libraries worldwide. It officially opened for visitors on June 16, 2006. The building is remarkable for its illumination.
